Glastonbury baby!!!

The first bit of news I have is that The Mister's band are performing at Glastonbury this year!!
On three separate stages!
We're all really proud and excited for the boys and hope that someone important is going to see them and hopefully get them signed (the mister has my shoe fetish to fund after all).
I'm still working my arse off at L'Occitane under a fabulous boss but a bitch of an assistant manager. It feels like her mission in life is to make everyone else's a misery and boy does she do it well.
I get yelled at for the most ridiculous of things (not changing a water bowl that I was nowhere near the whole day and therefore had no idea it needed changing) and she takes her fowl moods out on me by making me hoover both floors (even if downstairs has been untouched all day) and giving me a bollocking for not checking the floor to her stupid standards.
It never happens when the actual boss is around. She's one of the nicest and fairest people I think I've met. It's a shame.

I went to see Rage Against the Machine a few weeks ago at Finsbury park.
Well, the plan was to see them but I left the gig early due to a punch in the ribs and a mosh pit trampling to end all mosh pit tramplings. Some idiot flipped out because he couldn't get past me and some other bloke at the barrier, so he punched us both to get over. I then lost momentum with the crowd and fell down underneath jumping feet. A couple of guys found me under there and managed to help me up so I could push through and collapse for a bit on the side. I could hear rage from there but couldn't see them.
So that has upset me a little bit.
The silver lining is that I saw The Gallows and Gogol Bordello live and they were AWESOME. Crowd surfing on a drum was brilliant and I was involved in my first ever wall of death (it hurt but it was fun!). I tried curried goat for the first time and laid on the grass in the rain with a cider in my hand and a Rage t-shirt for a pillow.

Another bit of news is that I'm currently on Beta Blockers.
It's for the whole IBS problem but so far all they've done is made me extra sleepy and I've only been taking the things for a month. I'm pretty sure they're also part of the reason I fainted during my blood donation the other week. Ah well.
I'd better get my bum moving. I have to help the Mister sort out his camping bits and bobs ready for the weekend.

Stuff and Tings.

I know...I know...It's been forever and a day since I've blogged about anything.

So, I've been with L'Occitane since the 12th of April and the manager of the store I'm usually in offered me a full time contract with them. This means I now have a full time job.
I actually doubt it would have happened if I hadn't have handed in my notice a few weeks ago. I had an interview at Dorothy Perkins and was offered a job with them. After I handed my notice in, my manager said she was sad that I wanted to go, then spent a few days afterward trying to offer me things to stay with the company. I eventually got the hours I was looking for so I have decided to stay.

It's actually not so bad there now I'm settled in. I get along with the manager and the rest of my workmates (aside from the assistant manager who is a little hit and miss on the personality side of things). I can't say I love it and want to work in a shop for the rest of my days, but it feels alright for the time being and that's what counts.

One thing I REALLY don't like at the moment is the fact that I've had a stalker for the last few days.
I was taking out the rubbish the other day and this guy in the shop opposite kept staring at me. On my final trip, as I came out of the bin cellar, he was stood outside waiting for me.
He tried to ask me out and I said I wasn't interested then he ended up waiting for me outside the shop and following me home!!! I've made it clear a few times that I am not interested but he won't bugger off.
He turned up at work yesterday as I was serving a customer. By that time I had let all my workmates know so they were aware of who he was straight away. As soon as I finished serving I ran downstairs and everyone else delt with him. That freaked me out so much that I rang the mister to come and pick me up once I'd finished (if he wasn't able to then everyone from work said they'd walk me to the bus stop).

I know he works at the cafe across the square from me so my manager wants us to go over there with me and let his manager know what he's been up to.

In other news, the Mr and I went to Brighton for the day last week. His friend is opening up an ice cream shop so we went to see the place and wander around to take a look at the competition.
Ben and I then went for a walk around and a lay on the beach.

That's been it with me.
I'll let you know more about Mr Stalker as it happens (because I doubt I've seen the last of him).

Stay groovy xxx

Sorry.

I know I haven't updated in a couple of weeks but work doesn't leave me much free time.

I've been at L'Occitane for two weeks now and so far I'm really fighting the urge to quit.
I AM NOT enjoying myself and so far feel as if they're treating me like some kind of mug.

That's all I have the energy to say for now.
I'll write more as soon as I have the strength to type out everything without either crying or hitting the laptop (I've broken it...there's a crack on the side now. Whoops!).

To keep everyone up to speed on little things, I have decided to do this instead:

Last thing you ate: Cadbury's Caramel bar.
Last thing you drank: Cider.
Last thing you watched: Top Gear.
Last thing you bought: A can of Red Bull.
Last thing you returned: Meh?
Last thing you dreamt of: The Mister and I stealing the car of a girl I hate and cleaning(!) it.
Last thing you fought with someone about: What my workmates meant.
Last thing you regretted: Buying that cider
Last thing you forgot: How much Peony perfume is.
Last thing you wrote: The start of this post?
Last text you received: The assistant manager nagging me.
Last thing you laughed at: The Mister slipping on a sock.
Last thing you read: Am reading The Good Girl's Guide to Bad Girl Sex
Last thing you felt proud about: Fuck all to be honest.
Last thing you considered: Quitting my job
Last person you spoke to: Mum.
Last thing you saw that you wanted: A foot spa.
Last thing you stole: Almond cakes.
Last thing you realised: I'm not destined to be happy in a job...ever...
Last thing you decided: To send off CVs again.

As always I wish everyone who reads lots of groovy stuffs.

News

I have a job!!!

Ooooooohhhhhh yeah baby.

I'm now a sales associate for L'Occitane.
I had my interview on Thursday at one of the central London boutiques and I thought I'd managed to piss it up. I babbled on the questions and got a bit confused on the task she set me (had to try and sell her a hand cream) but I must have done something right as I got a call early Friday afternoon with an offer.
The job is only for 3 months but if they like me then there's a possibility that they'll keep me on as permanent staff. Fingers crossed x

Soles and Sorrows.

It's been an odd few weeks.

I haven't done much aside from jobsearching and try in vain to get some sleep (insomnia has decided to piss me off again).
Chloe - my employment advisor - sent me on a couple of workshops all the way in Finsbury Park. The first one, working in customer service, was full of stuff I already knew so it wasn't that helpful. The second one, working in care, was VERY enlightening. The lady running the workshop handed me an application form to begin as a domiciliary care worker with the chance to complete an NVQ and gain new qualifications. It probably doesn't sound very "me" but I think care work could be the way to go. If it doesn't work out then I don't have to carry on doing it.

The main news right now is that I've been trying to keep the Mister's spirits up after his uncle passed away a couple of weeks ago. To make matters worse, his Nan passed away this morning.
Grief is such a hard thing to try help someone through. I told him I'm here day and night if he needs to talk to someone, or needs to cry or shout or whatever else. I suppose that's all I can do really, isn't it?
I want to call him and see if he's alright, but I know from a couple of weeks ago when it happened with his uncle that speaking isn't something he feels like doing. I'm giving him his space but I think a text goodnight may still be a good idea... Just to let him know he's not alone.

From a sad subject to a groovy one. Mister bought me a pressie.
There are a pair of shoes I've been lusting after for months and yesterday he turned up at the door with them. They're 3" heels and I can hardly walk in them but I am more than determined to learn!

(The pictures aren't very Dita, but it's hard to get nice angles on your own)

Ok, strange transition from death to shoes but Mister has said it's perfectly fine to be happy and show them off without any guilt about how he is. He said they're a reminder of an awesome day so he's happy about it.
I've been practising walking in them around the house and I've only managed to fall over once so far. Mum tried to teach me how to walk in them but I didn't look as graceful as she did (then again, I was holding onto things to keep my steady whereas she's well practised in the art of high shoes).

The rest of today has been spent making a cake for my Mum & Dad's silver wedding anniversary. I, yes in heels, made them a chocolate and vanilla marble cake. It took forever and I'm pretty sure my right arm is now much bigger than my left, but it was more than worth it!

I am aware of the fact that it looks a bit like a swirly cowpat, but I have never once claimed to be good at baking. Nor have I ever claimed that I am housewife material...cooking and myself do not mix. It smells amazing. Hopefully it'll taste that way too!

That's it for now.
Mucho love stuffs xx
